Nike SB Dunk Low Quickstrike Wallenberg
Nike Dunks / 2010-03-10
Recently Sneaker News previewed an upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low Quickstrike that was thought to be a St. Patrick’s Day colourway. Given the color-blocking and release timing of the pair, making the St. Patty’s Day connection seemed obvious, but the beer-drenched holiday actually has no bearing on the inspiration behind the colourway.
The colorway draws a palette from the palm tree itself while utilizing hemp for the Swoosh. The white midsole represents the step and has a visible “waxed ledge” around the top of it, just like that step at Wallenberg. Lastly, the insoles each contain a pixelated image of the palm tree itself, giving a nod to all of the times it has appeared in skate videos over the years.

Before Scottie Pippen’s signature line was born at Nike he was known to wore and endorsed the Air More Uptempo, a sneaker which a lot of people assume is part of Scottie’s signature line due to the fact it wore it quite often, including in ‘96 when he did a stint with the Olympic Dream Team in a pair that had his #8 emboridered on the heel.
Some of you may be to young to remember those days, or maybe you’re from that era but just (sadly) didn’t have an interest in sneakers at the time. I however remember the shoes very clearly and for those who don’t you’ll have a chance to experience them as if we’re back in the 90’s as Nike is preparing to retro the sneakers later this year. Official release dates and all that jazz is still unclear at this time but thanks to TSG we’ve got some catalog scans of the shoes in two colorways. Unfortunately they’re just colored drawings and don’t provide us with a look at the actual detail put into the sneakers but at least now we can confirm that the Nike Air More Uptempo will return.
When we know more you’ll know more. For now click here to check out the other colorway.
Omar Salazar’s signature shoe with Nike SB not only marks a glorious occasion for him but it does the same for brand as this is the first time Flywire Technology has ever been fused into a pair of Nike SB’s. Not only that but the sneakers, the Zoom Omar Salazar, have been getting great reviews all over the web which is always a good sign when you venture into an entirely new field like this.
To celebrate the launch of the sneakers
Nike SB and Omar Salazar had a little get together in San Fransisco where the Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar was displayed in the two colorways releasing at stores now and in a few upcoming color schemes. Thankfully Hypebeast was on hand and snapped a few shots of the new colorways so we can all get a little preview of what’s to come from the Zoom Omar Salazar.
Shown in the photos is a Brown leather model and Blue, Grey, Purple and Yellow version fabricated from suede. When further details and photos become available we’ll be sure to let you know what the deal is, until then click here to check out the photos.
